Well, sure, something like an Engl will be better for contemporary metal tones. But for old school metal, thrash, doom metal, anything that just needs raw aggression, I’ll stick to Marshall. The Jubilee with the input maxed and the output above 6 gets me there.
It sure does and same for me as well

Mega awesome congrats on a most fine new amp day . The clip you posted clearly shows what all the fun is about - that thick juicy tone that rocks so good ! Enjoy and blast that volume .Are your speakers Vintage 30's ?

Marshall G12C (Chinese Greenbacks with less doping)

May I ask what country you ordered from please ?

The "holy land" Israel
Not sure if they will ship internationally. also shipping + taxes you will get you the same price locally.
So come and visit!!!

I agree thrash will sound much more nasty with the jubilee. the ENGL is really refined. the jubilee is raw laser cutting monster

What a fantastic amp.

Let me also add that the amp feels solid and well built.
IT IS THE NOISELESS TUBE AMPLIFIER I EVER HAD.
Master at 6, guitar volume down at the lead channel. dead quiet.
The tube sockets are high quality and everything is much more than you should expect at this price point.
Good job Marshall.

Yeah, that aspect is like a revelation. The 2555x and the 2525 are especially good in that regard.

If the price is coming back to within reason, I'm ordering one. I have a 50 watt so at 2K+ I can't justify the cost.

Thank you for your kind words.
Played it with sd1 today.
I think I'm falling in love with this amp...
It is not love at first sight.
It starts to feel like a lifelong relationship....

Yes! It takes a bit to get the intricacies of these amps. The EQ is different, so it throws people sometimes. Some people get hung up on the shared gain control. If you play around with pedals, they sort of fill the gaps and the amp becomes more usable. It has tons of low end, but it’s looser than a modern high-gain amp, so you have to be really assertive with your right hand technique. Once you get it, though, the tone is so rich.

Interesting that the bias was correct from the factory. I know a lot of the early ones from 2015 were all over the place.
That may be contributed to a change of power tubes.
The ones from 2015 had tung sols EL34 in them.
The new ones have JJ.
Also the one I have is fresh out of the factory.
Others may have been in the store quite a while.

Mine came with one side biased to 65 and the other 85. I have since swapped in some E34L JJs.

Euge Valovirta is hands down the coolest dude on youtube and an amazing guitar player.
I dig this dude a lot.
I spent a lot of time watching his videos in the corona days.

Interesting.
Different power tubes sometimes need different bias to sound the same.
Maybe the tubes were hotter and needed a colder bias.

I'm rocking with the 50 Watt mode now. I like it better, it has more distortion and saturation!

I feel like they also lowered the voltage in the 2555x with this mode.
Not only changed to triode mode on the power tubes.
Can anyone confirm?

A few years ago Santiago the designer was roaming this forum.
Maybe I can summon him with magic words:
ABRA KADBRA Beamos tetrodus pentodus screenus!!!! :mods:
May the god of new marshall designs be awaken and answer this question!

Lol, it is usually more effective to tag me :D

The low power mode in the 2555X is the same as in the original, it configures the output tubes in triode mode, nothing too fancy happening there...
The man himself:)
Thanks for the clarification.
I do hear more distortion but now I know it's all in my head.
The more distortion I perceive is in low volume so it can't be from the power tubes.

the triode configuration tends to be a bit softer (less crisp if that makes sense?) than pentode. It can be a bit of everything including your own perception :D
Yes I find it to be true. sounds more saturated, slower attack, more sag.
BTW I have also the 2203KK and the noise gate you designed is phenomenal:h5:

TL;DR Holy shit, this thing is a beast, listen to the audio clips below.

Finally after 6 months of wait it has arrived. my silver jub reiisue.
Got home, connected it to the cabinet and we are in fizz city.
Very underwhelmed.
It was then I remembered I had the same experience with the 2203KK(now my favorite JCM800).
I basically removed all the stock JJ's preamp tubes.
Replaced them with the following which I had laying around:
V1- ENGL shuguang 12AX7
V2- ENGL JJ ECC83
V3- Mesa Boogie JJ ECC83

Looked at the power tubes, they look like a new version of EH/Mullard EL34
They are suppose to be good tubes so I kept them.
EDIT: The power tubes are actually JJ EL34II.

Re biased the amp to 74 mv per side and...
Voila, It sings!!!, It sounds like the original jubilee but with a bit more bite!
Sharp and cuts like a laser beam.
If you switch to 50 Watt you lose the sharpness and the sound gets more smooth and saggy.
What a fantastic amp.

Let me also add that the amp feels solid and well built.
