hey you guys... i heard the dsl 100 has been discontinued coz of some soldering problem?? is this true??

and may i ask how much does a secondhand dsl 100 halfstack cost?

We were discussing this in the "Out of Date?" thread. AFAIK, the DSL production was halted while they changed over to lead-free solder. The old solder contained lead and therefore was in violation of the Reduction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) act. Production has been resumed on these models now that they have the solder sorted out.

Shop Craigslist and you can usually pick up a good deal on used DSLs. I recently bought a very clean DSL50 for $700. There was also a DSL100 and a 1960A cab for $1,000 on there recently, too. If you live around Nashville, shoot me an email. I know a guy who's wanting to sell a DSL100.

I can see it already once this becomes commonly known.... And now for the next controversy.... does the new solder sound as good as the old? :rolleyes:
