I had a 50W SLX EL34 head for years, one of my favorite amps ever. Regardless though I don't think I would pay a premium for one, they are not that rare, I see them come up pretty regularly on clist

Great amps (have a 2500H), but they did have some BR3 issues. Before you consider buying it, do the following...

• Remove the chassis.
• Locate the round component "BR3" on the front panel board.
• Verify there are no signs of heat damage or shotty repair work around "BR3".
• Verify none of the round electrolytic capacitors are leaking or bulging on top (both on the front panel board and the chassis mounted caps).

If the amp powers on and works, you should be good. Consider replacing "BR3" with a rectifier which has a higher current rating.
