Should I specify that HeadShell, Faceplates and PCB shown here are reproduction of Marshall Products ltd, for personal use only, just for pleasure to build this nice collectable amp , as close as possible of the Original Marshall JMP 2204. Not for commercial goal.

Thanks !
Face plates are made with Dibon material, CNC machined, and then printed.
Dibon is very cheap, but problem is 3mm thickness. It's the limit to get hardware mounting OK, specially with Cliff Jack. The total depth of the chassis (JMP70 style from Modulus) + faceplates is 176mm , tight but OK in original dimensions Headshell (depth 210mm)

Thanks you.
Finished, tested and biased today, everything gone fine, amp is quiet , no hiss, and sound really nice , I'm really happy with. I had no more time to play today (only 20mns) since I have to go for working... Can't wait tomorrow to explore much more ...

I'm late to the party - amazing work! Your attention to detail is impressive!

When to you hope to have it up and running?

Regards,

Russ
Thank you. One important detail still missing for me: reinforced brackets for PT. The ones ordered from APD with tranys are not right, so I'm searching for an used set, it seem that nobody makes good reproduction for this part. If someone knows, please let me know.

very nice job, congrats for the details, if it sounds like it looks it's gonna be killer!!
did you make the graphics and sent the vector file to Modulus? I really need those face/frontplates for my '78 JMP 2203 but no idea where to start...

I made the graphics then CNC and printing was done with local business. I think Modulus offer custom faceplates option but I'm not sure he can offer printing on Dibon like I done , I think he use engraving on different materiel, at least it was on my JMP 1987 from Modulus.

I tried to contact Mudulus and they said they need vector graphics, which I don't have a clue how to/where to get them...

That is a beautiful build with great attention to detail.
Funnily enough I noted the transformer bracket but not critical if the amp stays indoors!
I have bought some from Valvestorm in the past.

This thread had something to do with me deciding that I'm going to be building a hardwood headshell for my Mesa Mark V head.

A dovetailed, maple shell finished in a nice rich non-fading blue stain and high gloss lacquer will be EPIC. The maple boards I bought for the job have cost me over 300 dollars delivered. With the money being spent, I guess I HAVE to.

It'll be like this, but blue. And I'm not going to use the leather strap handle. Kind of hate those. Going with classic Fender or Marshall style, steel reinforced handles that will last essentially forever.

Thx ! Yes seen brackets on Valvestorm, the good ones are from metroamp (picture attached), but out of stock. I'm probably gonna to make it myself sawing and drilling piece of square metal tube.

Im trying to build a 2204 clone with rocker switch (its my dream amp) and its really hard for me to find the faceplate cuz i live in indonesia theres not many amp
Builders here unfortunately , and the tax for import is crazy here so buying from mojotone, modulus etc its not really an option for me, if you willing to share the files of the faceplate so i can fabricate it myself it would be much appreciated thank you, cheers 🤘🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🥺

@StF888 i'd second that, for me and probably a couple other members on this forum it would be nice to have these files as these JMP Faceplates are bassically not available in Europe. Modulus uses non accurate material and when going with Matthews it's probably quite pricy because of importtaxes. Please share in the spirit of DIY Marshall Lovers. Thanks.
