It looks like some OT transformer secondaries go all the way to the impedance selector while others only to a breakout board. Maybe not all the transformers had long wires.
There seems to be no purpose for the shield wire since it seems to be only from the breakout board ground bus to right inside the chassis below the impedance selector.
