I´m a german student trying to correct the schematic of the legendary Marshall Major 200.
If everything works as planned, I will build a replica of this amp and make the information available for you to build one for your own.
I´d be very thankfull if you can help me out.
Cheers Jannik:cheers:

Yup, that should be no problem. A german Shop for Amp Parts sales these as a new production with the original specs.
Look for "Tubeampdoctor"

The biggest right now are:
-correct schematic
-layout for a turret board
-size of the chassis and Head-Shell

Oh damn it.....I was thinking about buying a kit of a 1959 Marshall and change the components.
It might also be much cheaper to build a replica with two KT88 tubes.

Yes, I already had a conversation with him. I also got in contact with a german amp builder that could build me this model. My problem is, that if I have the information I need, I can build the amp for half the price or less.

This is the schematic I´ve been told is the accurate one.
Many of the old mistakes have been corrected.

They will :naughty:
Right now I got my Peavey 5150 Signature Model with a Marshall 1960AV Cab :shred:
But back to the topic. What would you think ob building a Major "100" .
This could save a lot of money because I could use a kit for a 1959 or something similar.

This one is more accurate. The OT secondary is shown as a continuous winding, but really it has multiple windings that are combined externally.

I think the Major 100 is a better idea ,.........you can get a good attenuator and you won't
destroy your speakers ,.........I think that nowdays,...even though the Major 200 watt his Historic,
it's just a Dinosaur piece of History and with all the amp profiling thing going on,
the 200 watt gets further and further behind in time if this makes any sense where the 100 watt will
get you there and will be something everyone will want to play and even buy.

I´m just a bit struggling with the aspect of headroom.
Excuse my unperfect english by the way.
I think many people that know this amp have seen the following video.
My hope would be to get somewhere close to this sound.

Sounds great but I think that Max has a better Blackmore tone with his Mini Major
than this ,......I wouldn't be too consern about the headroom ,....if you build 100 watter, it will be enough to have your ears and speakers explode with plenty of headroom ! ;) and I think Blackmore had his amps modded for more gain.

Which Marshall-Transformer provides the correct voltages for this amp as a 100W Version?:hmm:
Should be 6.3VAC for the heaters at around 5 Amperes
450VAC for the circuit and
100VAC for the bias what results into -70VDC Bias Voltage
