Hey,
So there is a DSL 1watt for sale close to me but I'm not 100% sure it's a 50th anniversary VS a current production model.
What are the clues?
It has the 50th badge on the back but it looks a little suspect.

This is the stock photo w ad

Ahhh So he will sell it for $400
However; I now know what to look for.
50th anniversary models have Volume and Gain on channel 1
Current production models only have volume on channel 1.
See if he sends a pic . . .
the other thing, IIRC, is the 50th has 5 tubes & the production unit has 3...

I'm also able to right-click & "open image in new tab" to see images...

That's what I initially tried but it didn't work.

I have no idea what toggle BB means (and it doesn't matter), but I tried everything I could in reply but couldn't figure it out. I'm not tech savvy in the least though.

You mentioning right click caused me to try again and this time it worked for some reason.

Thanks for the help!

Great looking amp Mike. Nice cock too!

Edit: if you change that picture...so help me...

Ha ha, pretty funny.
Well I spent a quick hour with it today thru a 2X12, sounds good, lots of gain on tap, responsive EQ.
The sound is harder for me to dial in compared to the JVM1H so it seems destined to be a collection/investment amp. To be fair, it's facing an uphill battle for position against the JVM and the 6101 and the AVT...

In a van down by the river.
I would buy a DSL1 50th Anniversary even for $550, if I had to pay that much (new). The original faceplate style, plus the extra control for the clean channel is a huge plus over the regular DSL1.

Other stuff:

After owning a current production DSL1 head and DSL1 combo, I wouldn't buy them for more than $250 new. Actually, I wouldn't buy them at all; they're nothing more than overpriced toys/ novelties.

(FWIW, I currently own the regular prod. DSL5 combo, DSL20 combo, DSL20 head, and DSL100HR, all of which are pretty good maps "for the money", IMO.)

A Note for others interested in the current DSL models: if you want to purchase one, consider the pricing across the models, because the difference in price to get to the next better model isn't very much. Example, if you're considering a DSL5 combo, you'd be a LOT better off coughing up an extra $100 for the DSL20 which has the full set of controls (Presence & Resonance), etc.
