I've had to swap tubes on mine as well. Stock tubes were good but after a few months I started having problems. First it was the PI tube and then the v1 seemed to have problems as there was a lot of noise. I actually think the amp has bigger problems as there is a lot of high pitched squeal that wasn't originally there. I just got a new amp (Toneking Royalist mkiii) so the SV20 is sitting on the side. Eventually I will take it to a tech and have it looked at.
Wow, that sucks man, I have been pretty lucky with mine, I was loading into a gig and I had my SV20H sitting on my 2/12V cab, and when I went across the thresh hold my hand slipped and the head fell on the concrete floor about 3ft. I freaked out of course and thought I trashed it. I got it up on stage and plugged it in and it came right on and still is gigging to this day and that was a year ago.
