So, I’ve been obsessed with vintage kramers since I got my 86’ a couple months ago. So anytime I see them online I am going to buy them. Especially because for some reason I am getting them for extremely cheap.

I got the 86’ for $400
And just got this ~83’for $300

@ToneWitch

Good Score!!
It looks like it's in really good condition!

Forgive my ignorance
How do you fine tune that?
Did they hold tune when the locks are set??

After some research and talking with some Kramer gurus. This is a first series run of Kramer Focus that came out of the Japan ESP factory. Low serial number and subsequently rare. Dated to late 1982 or early 1983. It’s in basically unplayed condition. The white hasn’t faded so I’m assuming it’s been locked in it’s case for quite some time.

The never-proven rumor was that the “D” stood for Dimarzio. My 3000D had the regular ol’ cheap import Kramer humbucker. Yours does look like an earlier Dimarzio with the type of baseplate and mounting tabs, but it could be a Schaller, some of which look similar in front (hex pole pieces) and back (four screws in baseplate) to a Dimarzio.

Either way… beautiful guitar.

The guitar is too nice for me to use so I went and bought another 80’s Kramer lol I’ll post up pics when it gets here from Japan.
