Hi, Fellow Marshall lover!
I just pick up 1968 -1970 cab 1960A for $700
the tolex was removed and painted black. The grill cloth is basket-weave not a rip or tear but the previous owner painted it black. plywood back, metal handles and 2x4 brace. The 4 speakers are all pre Rola greenbacks. #1 is a G12H 102 014 cone. #2 is a G12H re-cone WF 1009 cone.
#3 is a G12M 102 014 cone. #4 is a G12M 102 003 cone. My first question is can I safely remove the paint from the grill cloth? should I remove the grill cloth and reverse it because the backside is still nice brown basket wave. I have read that the basket-weave grill is very thick and cuts out a lot of highs end frequencies. your thoughts will be greatly appreciated.
I will try and send pictures. website stating some pictures are to large
