Musical heroes? None really. When I was a teen maybe. Now there is music I like but nobody I really place on a pedestal or idolize.

Diana Gal Gadot, princess of the Amazons, on the other hand, is my heroine to the end of time. No musical heroes can take her place.

Black Cat D&S

Based on the old Maxon D&S or OD-801
On a traditional Big Muff type pedal, the tone rolloff gets very muddy, resulting in a loss of definition and mushy sound. Maxon redesigned the tone circuitry to dump some resistance to ground, allowing much better definition in the low end.

Modern replica of the original 1974 Maxon design
Cool Black glass epoxy PCB with yellow silkscreen
Metal film resistors and audio grade capacitors
3PDT true-bypass switch and Switchcraft jacks
Uses 2.1mm Boss style power jack, or internal 9V battery
Hand-wired, Boutique quality, Made in USA

Black Cat (Distortion & Sustainer)

The fuzz effect will max out with the sustainer knob set around noon.
Passing noon may add a bit more gain, but mostly just adds noise.
Full counter-closewise of the tone control to noon is most interesting. This is where the Black Cat D&S differs from a typical Muff fuzz.

Yes, I agree they are good pedals, I have 2 that I bought 2nd hand.
But it is better to buy from people you like, you spend a lot of time with pedals, the vibe matters.

What is "the fate" of those 2 you bought 2nd hand ?

Sitting comfortably in the mix
I dont play them much, I bought them because they were very cheap,
I sort of liked them but I am addicted to getting new stuff so there is stuff I like better.

After I bought them I did some research and read a lot of people think the maker is weird and rude so that put me off them.

Being weird and rude doesn't make "the maker" to become Voldemort.
I believe I am "weird and rude" to others occasionally, for that matter.

Go easy on yourself, mate.

4 Friedman Pedals 1 Amp

Exactly like a friendly neighbour next door to me. I like his carefree manner and the way he presented the demonstration, very open-hearted.
He really appreciates the sound of Dirty Shirley and Golden Pearl.
