The other day i found a set of 7 preamp tube sockets and 4 Power Tube socketrs that i ordered 4 years ago as replacement for the preamp tube sockets and power tube sockets in my 1990 Fender Red Knob Twin. I know you do have to be very cautious when soldering those preamp and power sockets. Is it worth the effort and time to reduce background noise and hum?

I would only if they are really loose and have been re-bent and pins tightened up a lot or are broken, then only the sockets that were.

99 % probability that isnt the noise source. Change out the plate resistors to metal film/oxide and thus will lower the noise floor alot. Reflow every solder joint with good 60/40 helps also.
