Started a 10xxx clone this week. I'm using all Classic Tone iron instead of Heyboer. Used CT on a 20w and liked it so we'll see. Need to change some turrets around. Should be a nice compliment to my '69.

What build was the 20w EL84 's ?
I am going to build something , most likely a SE 5w but I want to build a 20w pp mainly for versatile light weight amp with some power !
Plexi build will be nice !

Looking good!

What spacing did you go with under the board to chassis? Clearance or standoff size I should add?

Where did you source that chassis? I have a laydown style Metro 100W power transformer I need a chassis for. I also love that option of having the fourth 12AX7 socket in the chassis. Did it come that way?

Everything but the trannies and board are from ValveStorm. Using boards from Watts and Classic Tone iron.
Standoffs are 1/2" then I use two #4 nuts below the board.

You going to stay with EL34?

I am considering loading up some KT66 when I get mine done.

Yea I'll use EL34's, just not sure which. I had JJ's in my '69 I finished a month ago and one took a dump yesterday. I have pairs of RFT Siemens but no matched quads.

I am mounting transformers on my project today. I have stand up transformers and my OT has its end bells front/rear like yours. It looks like you put the secondary side next to the power transformer. Is that preference or standard orientation?

ADD: I just looked and for my chassis, looks as if I put OT primary first or next to power xfmr I will have a shorter run for the CT wire to the HT fuse/50uF dual can.

Your chassis uses a stand up PT like this? This is my '69 I finished recently. Haven't got much done on the '67 lately, hope to get back at it soon.

My chassis has the power and output transformers mounted 90 degrees turned than that one. I just had to drill mounting holes for the choke as well. This chassis is actually a 100W but I am using it for a 50W project.

I have the Classic Tone 18095 power and a Mercury 050-PLM output. The OT I have had sitting around for a few years now. Bummer as the OT wires are possibly coming up short going to the impedance switch. That is with the primary side wires next to the power xfmr. Would have been worse if I mounted opposite like your 67 project.

That is why I wondered why you put the secondary side of OT next to your power xfmr?
