SV20 owners might be interested in this, especially those thinking of modding it. Jason from Headfirst Amplification here in Oz going through the SV on the bench.
I've been plenty happy with mine stock, but would love to have a blast on one of his with the Jose treatment.

Sounds as some mods work on SV20 circuits, and some do not. :2c:

I think the first few fixes made a positive improvement. I may have that done.

I went the other way with mine as a few of us on here have done, toned down the Bright cap with a resistor change for a smoother response(much less brittle) with the High Treble channel, works great with jumping the channels also of course. The overall 'noise' of the amp when idling is markedly reduced.

I did hear the change after the mods, but not sure it was enough that I'd mod my SV20. I think using lower settings of the Presence and Treble, as well as finding the best speaker match for the amp, can go a long way in "tuning" the tone. I do like this guy's videos, very informative.
