Let me be clear (because that's what everyone says now):

If it weren't for the most beaten-like-a-dead-horse radio song "More Than Words", there would be no Nuno, and no stupid looking Nuno guitar model, and he wouldn't be swinging his tunes on ocean cruises and at beer malls.

Extreme, was a horrible band, but not horrible in the same class as Poison: Extreme were horrible, but Poison was, and always will be, a clown act.

Splash, on the other hand, is the real deal, and the last of the real rock guitar gods (to a lot of people, I guess). It's too bad that he began his career with a whistling @sshole for a singer, but things got progressively better for him after that, and so did he.

And there ya go.

Cheers!

GnR fan or not, Slash was smokin' it in his prime.

Trying to listen to Pornograffitti now for the first time to see what all the fuss is about (More than Words excluded). It's so bad.... so bad. Generic '80s cover-band is the first thing that comes to mind... lotta squeals and artificial harmonics, mostly forgettable riffs. He's no Eddie... or Slash.
What about their new song? Still not my cup of tea...

Its your crazy radar. You see a chick thats crazy, unfortunately Im attracted to psycho women so she looks like a smokeshow lol.
She's actually a billionaire now (1.7 billion). The wealthiest female musician. Not bad for a crazy lady. ;-)
Rihanna, launched Fenty Beauty. Forbes

I'd pass.

From a physical perspective, sure, fine body - but the look in her eyes, brrr, no thanks. I can't quite put my finger on it, but something just says "no" to me.
Crossroads once said the same about the gals in Wet Leg.
I don't get how you guys can tell so much judgiing eyes in a music video?
I would need to meet somebody before making any strict judgements about their personalities

I'd have to google that. Should I? Is it safe?

Well, at the risk of sounding a bit shallow here, I was looking at her in a solely physical way. You know how sometimes someone gives you a 'bad vibe' or you immediately like/dislike someone a bit at first sight without solid reason? Like I said, I can't put my finger on it - it's just a "hunch". Completely agree on meeting a person face to face to make judgements, and even then it's tricky, right - that's why I call it a hunch. If I happened to bump into her one day I would treat her with the same respect I have for anyone else. A hunch isn't always correct, and one must give others the benefit of the doubt to a degree.

what's more amusing to me is that pretty much all of us not famous cover players that have done top 40, weddings, commercial, executive, corporate events, etc, could probably do Rhianna better than Nuno without even having to try because it's what we've done every weekend for 30 years lol, meanwhile he just has to focus on a few songs and play the same thing every night.... pretty easy cheeky gig imo.

I guess this is what happens when personalities get older though, they think no one can do what they do.

I'm not sure I understand Nuno's argument. He says playing in Rihana's band is so challenging a guy like Slash would have trouble? I have yet to hear anything from Rihana that is impossible or actually very challenging for Any decent musician. I appreciate Nuno as a guitarist but this sounds like he is trying far to hard too just say he worked for her for some of the big $$$$ and that it was more challenging for him than he had thought. The piss match is not needed. Also of note Slash is well versed in Pop,Rock and Classical. I doubt he would break a sweat working with any of the pop diva's and their music. Ymmv.

The thing i remember most about Nuno was to cop his tone more or less you turned the mids down all the way and the other knobs up all the way..and then you ran it through G12T75s.

I was thinking the same thing yesterday b/c the tone was getting on my nerves. It sounded like an early generation modeler of a Mesa Boogie w/the mids scooped.

Both are brats, but I have to say that Slash is the most boring, overrated guitar player of all time. He has a good time, that's all. Every lick and idea lifted from any 70s rock player. Nothing exciting, individual, or emotional about anything he does. He's a cartoon character in a plastic wrapped tin can.

Speaking of washed up guitarists that no one's ever heard of or cares about, does anyone remember the name of the dude that played a green paisley shred guitar and was always in Guitar World ads in the early '90s? Could have been a Washburn ad, but not positive.

That's it! I guess it was a Seymour Duncan ad... regardless, it left a lasting impression.

Who is Wet Leg? I don't remember that conversation ... though, not denying I said something like that, as it sounds like something I might say.

A hunch I understand. I've always thought Taylor Swift seems boring; just a hunch though based on interview snippets and her public persona to a degree... not on the looks of her eyes.

A similar sentiment but I was not positive I remembered correctly- Here is the post

Nuno falls into the innovator category.

No, I would say Nuno falls into the completely irrelevant category. He had mild career success but didn't make any waves, barely a ripple actually.
