Eric and I attended the Europe concert in Indianapols at the Vogue Theatre Sunday. John Norum (one of my top 10 favorite players) was playing very well as always. The entire band kicked ass. In fact I heard more than one person say this was the best concert they had been to.

Joey's voice held up unlike any voice in that range better than anyone I have heard in some twenty years...mind you this man is approximately 50 and that would have made the others in their 30's at the time. All too often singers fall prey to time...not this guy. He climbed up into my balcony and shook my hand...too cool!

Thanks guys and best of success on the War of Kings Tour. Thanks for stopping by Naptown.

Johns Amps are as usual JCM 800 2205 with KT88's. Joey used DSL's. NO OD PEDALS.

He started out playing just about anything really. Then he got a 1963 strat as a gift. That's the guitar he used on practically all of the final countdown album. He used it on "Total Control" aswell. On that album he also used two customguitars made by a Swedish luthier called Arne Arvidsson. When he joined Dokken the first time he used both LP's and the customguitars. Apart from a short stint with Schecter, he's been using Gibson's since. Apart from the latest album where he brought out his old strat again.

Here is some footage for you NewReligion, from back in 1982 when Europe won a rock competition in Sweden, what really made their career take off. Their price was that they got to do an album.

Right on...didn't he and Billy White use "Valley Art" guitars (as the custom shop) for Don Dokken's Up From The Ashes. That cassette/CD has been in my vehicles since its release...very underrated album...and very few people know who Billy White is aka Billy Blanco. Billy started out in Houston with Watchtower after Dokken did the Billy White Trio and now does ambient music, pretty amazing. OI bought his last 2 CD's soothing and incredible.

Yes, Billy's an amazing player. Have no clue as to the Valley Art guitars. He's using an LP and one of the Arvidsson-guitars in the "Mirror mirror"-video.
