Got this little package in the mail from Valvestorm today and couldn’t resist starting on it. I’m still waiting for the Metrospec transformers and need to order a cabinet from Sourmash.

This is what was in the box.

Decided to start wiring the board in the meantime. This is actually Step 10 in the manual.

Can't be a proper JTM 45 - the control wires aren't all pink!:naughty:
Actually doing it in those colours is more sensible - stops confusion.
Hey, that’s the wires that came with it. And, you were right, those wires are rated for 1000v.

Did a little more this afternoon. Man, I wish I had the transformers. Not a whole lot more can be done until then.

I am waiting on some transformers too, but mine are from Mr Wallace, the special order ones are made to order so I expect a longer wait- it is to repair a very special 45/100;).

BTW you can get pots and input jacks in, heater wires (look at the Valvewizard site for the method of going in the chassis corner but when you come to the socket keep twisting and go across the middle of the socket) Marshall used this in some amps in 64/64 and to my view is neat and quiet. You can also get fuses and switches wired up in preparation:)

I thought I might start on the pots and jacks and heater wires. So, heater wires like this?

Chris, is this the $374 kit from Valvestorm or did you have to add to the kit.. looks like a choke needs to be added (not counting the cabinet).

Right, that’s the kit I got. I ordered the PT, OT and choke from Metropoulos, another $350 and a cab from Sourmash. So, about $1000 all in.

I went with the Metropoulos stuff after watching George’s JTM45 videos on YouTube. His amps seemed to really capture the tone of a vintage jtm45. I also built a Ceriatone JTM45 recently and will be able to compare the two when I’m finished with my current build.

Yeah, I will be curious to hear what you think because that Ceriatone is a little less in price... unless shipping is horrible.
