The original Pacers started with Schaller pickups, if you can find a set on Ebay, they are worth a try too.
The early ones were two vols, one tone. Then went to 1 vol, 2 tones.

I have a bunch of Marshall heads with cabs that I sometimes like to compare with each other. I have seen the 4 amp Voodoo Lab switcher, but I would like more, maybe 8-10.
Any ideas on maybe building one? Pros - cons? Anyone done it?

So if I followed the video correctly, these are the things you did for the mod:
1. Move wire from center term on Vol II to ground lug
2. Add wire from center term on Vol II to input resistor
3. Swap coupler caps, .0022 and .022
4. Mixer cap changed from 500 to 470
5. Remove bypass cap on...
Really, I didn't realize it made that much difference?
I think the head box on that one is a Weber, would that be shielded inside? I can't remember and already put it back together and put it on the stack!
Thanks for the info. I was indeed playing it without the headcab, so maybe that contributed?
Anyways, I put it back to stock and it actually sounds fine the way it is. It is quiet, so I don't see any need to totally rewire it.
