The sound (hiss) gradually increases as you turn the gain knob up? or it sounds scratchy as you turn it up or down?
If it gradually increases, that is normal. (hiss)
Been using a DSL 50 with a 1936 Greenback loaded cab for the past 4 years with no issues. (Master on 4)
The 50 and 100 watt DSL heads sound much better than the 401 combos.
4x12 everytime, all the time for any time, unless one won't fit in yur car................... :cool:
I own (4) 4x12's, but a 4x12 won't fit in a Mustang, so 2x12 for me................. :(
DSL's are bright amps.
Keep the treble and Presence below (5) and even better at around (3).
These amps hit their sweet spot with the master volume at around (4) or above.
Replace the Power tubes with "JJ's"
These help to tame some of the harsh high end...
