    FS: Celestion Seventy 80 G12P-80

I just bought a Vox V112 Cab today and am selling the stock speaker, which turned out to be a Seventy 80. I had planned on putting a Greenback in the cab. 30W, 16ohm Excellent condition, the cab was used but was confined to studio use. Asking $45 + shipping. Thanks!

Gotta find something similar to Class 5 with more watts!

I have SERIOUSLY thought about getting the C5 Head and a 2x12 cab that would allow me to run both my combo C5 a little hotter in conjunction with the head and cab. I think that might be plenty of volume for most situations...but, I wouldn't know until I tried it.

Gotta find something similar to Class 5 with more watts!

I have 3 amps at the moment, my Class 5, Fender Blues Deluxe, and Vox AC4TV. This weekend I had a big practice session with my newly formed band. I gig my Class 5 at church and love love LOVE it. But, at the practice session, I was afraid the little 5 watter wouldn't being able to hang...

Trade or Sell my Blues Deluxe for AC15??

I've had my Fender Blues Deluxe for about 6 months now, and I really like the pure Fender clean tone. I find 40W to be a little bit overkill, and even at practice sessions I rarely get over about 2 on the volume. Ever since I got my Vox AC4 I have been stricken with that tone. So, I'm...

How to Change Tubes in a Class 5???

So I got the Ruby's in...here's what I think. First of all, what I love about the C5 is that it is woody yet clear, and chimey yet gritty. Fender amps are too thin for my taste, and Vox amps can be a little bright. The C5 is the best sounding amp with my Strats for me period. The Ruby...

How to Change Tubes in a Class 5???

Will do Saturday then! I was glad to hear that the crackling was gone, but that just means I can use these for spares.

How to Change Tubes in a Class 5???

I only dime the C5 volume at church, but my guitar volume is never dimed, just around 4-7 depending on how much grit I need. I mean, maybe that isn't pushing it that hard unless my guitar volume is wide open, but the C5 volume is up all the way probably around 3 times a week when I gig. Funny...

How to Change Tubes in a Class 5???

How long does it take to break in a speaker? I've had my C5 since December and have been gigging it 3 times a week since January.

How to Change Tubes in a Class 5???

lol yeah man, it just sounds awesome with our band. We don't have a drummer so I don't need a ton of volume or headroom. Basically, I crank the volume to 75% and work the guitar volume knob. I get just enough breakup to sound bluesy without it sounding like I am even getting breakup if that...

How to Change Tubes in a Class 5???

haha would LOVE to, but my Class 5 fits the bill nicely for the church where I play. This is THE best sounding amp I've ever played with a strat period. I've had a Deluxe Reverb, Blues Deluxe, Blues Jr, AC15 and others, and this thing blows away the rest. I find myself using low wattage amps...

    Tubes for my Vox AC4TV

The specs for my Vox AC4 reads like this: Valve/Tube Complement: 1 x 12AX7 (pre) / 1 x EL84 (power) I know I've heard that a 12AX7 and an ECC83 are the same thing, so can I put an ECC83 in this amp instead of the 12AX7???

How to Change Tubes in a Class 5???

I'm really hoping they don't change much of anything actually. I love the sound of the Class 5 just the way it is, but I am getting a crackling sound and I figure it's a tube because I've been playing it cranked at my church several hours a week for the last 6 months or so. I was told these...

How to Change Tubes in a Class 5???

Wow man thank you guys so much for those pics!!! Definitely seems like it may be a little easier than I had anticipated! I actually got 2 Ruby ECC83's and 1 Ruby EL84. They were recommended for my amp by a couple guys at a local shop. My initial gut reaction was to get JJ's, but I don't know...

How to Change Tubes in a Class 5???

Thanks! That's kind of what I was thinking. The only amp work I've ever done has been changing a speaker in a Blues Jr. I think I'm going to get around to changing the tubes this weekend. I'm really looking forward to getting this amp back to gigging shape!

How to Change Tubes in a Class 5???

Well the time has come to change the tubes in my Class 5. I started hearing a fuzzy/crackling sound when the amp is on so I figure it is time to change the tubes. I ordered a set of Ruby Tubes for it, and I'm looking forward to getting them in, but I just don't have any experience with...

    UK vs USA....Speakers!!!

What is the difference in UK voiced speakers, such as the Greenbacks and Vintage 30's, and USA voiced speakers like Jenson or Eminence? My understand is that USA speakers are scooped in the mids with a smoother drive and UK speakers are focused in the mids with an edgy breakup. Basically...

Is their anything close to a Class 5???

Just curious, does 2 class 5's equal more volume, our is it just like 1 class 5 through 2 speakers?
