I’m sick of hearing a 4x12 is too loud to play out

I show up with a full stack. I have a wonderful feature on my JCM800 called a master volume. I put the two boxes next to each other with the head on the slant box and a Fender Twin Reverb on the other. I use a Bigshot ABY to switch between amps. or run both at the same time. Awesome sound. It...

Does a full sized Marshall head really weigh too much ????

I am 68 and still would never play without my half stack at least preferably full. I do like leaving both boxes on the ground for better sound distribution. I have a Code 100 that is still really heavy.

If you could only have one guitar, what would it be?

Only one guitar? Nah. That would be like a carpenter trying to build a house with only a hammer. Couldn't live without my flock. Two HHS strats, one with Floyd Rose and an Ibanez Jem. I also use a Ramerez Classical, Seagull Acoustic, Ovation Paul McCarthy, Yamaha 12 string, Martin Backpacker...

What tubes are Y'all using in V1 and for PI in your JCM 800?

I bought a full set of Groove Tubes 12AX7 and four matched EL34s and have been very pleased with the sound from my JCM800 2010. I get a nice clean sound when I need it and great harmonics in drive mode. My band plays a wide variety of tunes where clean is most important and then we get into...

    Full Stack Cable wiring?

I have a JCM800 2010. It is old and sounds great. I just set the impedance to 8 and run two speaker wires to my two 16 ohm 1960s that came into being in 1972. You do have a very pretty new set up there.

    DSL50 for Home Use?

I have a JCM800 100W 2210 stack, a CODE 100, and a Valvestate Vs65. All three can get real loud if i want them to be, but they have this wonderful little master volume Knob on them that can be set for any size room. If I am recording in my studio living room with the JCM, I have incredibly...

Have you considered a Marshall Code 100 or 50. Lots of possibilities and a reasonable price. You can pick your Amp on one amp.

Why does old stuff tend to sound better?

Hecho en china hecho en mexico. Cheap labor with cheap parts and very regulated environmental rules. with solders that do not hold up well and plastic cheap plastic everywhere.

    Lead Chops

Find a classical guitar teacher at a music school. That will teach you so many skills and playing positions. I no longer use picks that can slow you down. You will learn music theory as well and reading music.
