welcome to the forums
JJ has a EL844 which is a lower power tube. it breaks up earlier if you want distortion at a lower volume.
if the reverb is a spring type i would just ditch it and get a TC hall of fame.
much more reliable/flexible.
i remember seeing Dimbag doing sound check at Hammerstein.
his wall of stacks was the real deal. they did a volume check of each amp.
i will never forget that show.
what's original doesn't matter. what matters is how it's wired now.
two 8Ω speakers in series makes those two 16Ω. wire them parallel with another 16Ω pair of 8Ωspeakers would bring you back to 8Ω
if you have a muli-meter you should double check the Ω of the cabinet.
be sure to read this...
yeah i wanted the inside pretty much dead. my goal was a solid cabinet that
i didn't need to do math with cubic this, or resonant that :)

"With the Liberator 80, we took our classic ET65 and fattened up the midrange.
This speaker has a lot of punch and presence. A speaker that definitely won't get lost in the mix."
with the 65's you'll be giving up mids, and mids are...
i always liked the look of the orange cabinets. they also sounded great when i saw Clutch.
how much does a 2x12 orange cabinet weigh? my custom 2x12 with greenbacks is 80lbs :eek2:

take it to a tech to get it checked out. i wouldn't use it till you do just to be safe.
good news i can finally log into Antique Electronics.
bad news they already shipped my caps.
went to the shack and asked for a 1W 25Ω resistor. brought it home and it's
got 4 bands; red, violet, black, and red. it's a 27Ω. note to self double check values at the store.
