    Redoing lettering on faceplate?

Mine too. But I suspect it was deliberate by the former owner :D. Mine also says "OWER" and "STA BY". ("stubborn city" in my language) I was thinking about contacting various local companies making metal signs, door nameplates etc. See if they could help me. Maybe that could be a solution for...

Simple Attenuators - Design And Testing

JohnH: I'll humbly take my hat off for hours of very interesting read. Thank you! If you don't mind, I might ask you a thing or two later on as I plan on making my own attenuator soon.

Powering a Marshall Haze 40 after sitting in storage for 3 years

Well, they better get the hell out for their own safety. Or maybe some of them will get fried in parallel over some high voltage components adding a cool character to the tone by luck. Critter tone! :dude:

    Your favorite grab-n-go Marshall combo

Oh, man! It was instant love at the first chord when I first tried it. I bought it on the spot! A very responsive amp. I will never part with it

Standby. Turning On and Off my Marshall tube amp

But if you're in a shop test driving amps, the master, gain and channel volume should always be left at 10 or preferably 11 on the biggest amp when you leave after being given bad service. Two can play the asshole game

Standby. Turning On and Off my Marshall tube amp

The input and FX loop is of lesser importance. You probably know this already, but the most important plug for your amp is the speaker plug. NEVER unplug the speaker/cab under power or power it up unplugged. You'll kill the output transformer.

Powering a Marshall Haze 40 after sitting in storage for 3 years

Thanks for your responses. Guess it's good to go. It's been sitting in a dry and room tempered environment. I'll keep the bug spray at hand if any critters have moved into it. ;):D

    Your favorite grab-n-go Marshall combo

My grab and go is my '87 2554 Silver Jubilee. I love it! Fat juicy cleans, great crunch and an angry OD. A hard rock machine!

Powering a Marshall Haze 40 after sitting in storage for 3 years

Probably a stupid question, but I figured it was smart to ask more experienced folks than me. I've had my 2010 Marshall Haze 40 sitting in storage for three years now. And I want to blow the dust off and fire her up soon. Is it problematic to simply plug it into 230V mains and hit the power...

    Guitar grounding issue

I think you somewhat answered your own question. Try to measure the resistance between the bridge and the jackplate. Continuity? In that case, your bridge is grounded as it should. If nothing: You have a ground break on the bridge. That must be the wire going nowhere.

I´m thinking about becoming "that" guy..

My girlfriend insists on my gear having their place in the living room. She's a rare breed, I know. She's like "Wow! That guitar would look beautiful on that wall. Didn't you say you had wall mounts for guitars?" And she couldn't care less about music...

1987 model 2554 scandinavian version. Considering changing OT for 16ohm ability

I'll check up on my PT later. I'll be sure to update. ;)

1987 model 2554 scandinavian version. Considering changing OT for 16ohm ability

I don't think it has to do with the dangers of spilling drinks into the amp. As that would be disastrous for any amp anyway. Being an electrician licenced in Norway, I know that the mantra in scandinavia has been to focus on "berøringsspenning". (touch voltage) Voltage available to touch. And to...

    Rediscovering old gear stashed away

I bet there's very little schematics to be found on these. But if this can help you along, I'm more than happy to provide pictures. Are these good enough for your use?

    Rediscovering old gear stashed away

I went through some house cleaning a few days ago. Throwing away old stuff that had been collecting over the years. I found my old Gollmer The Blues distortion pedal in the basement. A pedal I bought almost 10 years ago. I remember I didn't like it that much after all and stashed it away in the...

Damn night filter on the screen making everything almost colorless. But I'm still no wiser as to what the problem is. Maybe I'm being slow. Saturday night

    is she off limits?

If her ex was one of my friends: No! I don't like messing around through my friends garbage for gold. I respect them and the wounds they may have. At the very least I would tread very carefully. Shit can get ugly. (Now, if said friend was ok with it, that's another story). If her ex was...

    Before you die

Meet Lemmy and discuss lots of common interests over some brew in a dark and dusty pub. But it's too late now. But another thing I would love to do is to learn german as my third language (alongside english and norwegian). Owning an old Gretsch White Falcon .
