How can I not think it's drugs?

I dont have any issues at all with anyones choice of lifestyle..until it degrades mine.

    RIP Norm Macdonald

    This sucks.

How can I not think it's drugs?

Yeah I am not gonna lie. There was a time in my life 25+ years ago when I drank heavily and would take any illicit drug put in front of me. Through CBT I realized I was self medicating. I learned how to "deal" with things without being altered and my life got exponentially better in all aspects...

How can I not think it's drugs?

Not really sure but especially in the state I moved to, it seems like every single person I know is using something to deal with life.

How can I not think it's drugs?

The typical response I get when talking to other musicians is things like "Well Jimi and Clapton and yada yada played wasted"| Yeah! Those people are/were exceptional musicians.

How can I not think it's drugs?

Oh most certainly. One band I am in the guys average 65 years old and 3 of them do mushrooms every weekend.

How can I not think it's drugs?

Another project down the tubes due to someone prioritizing drugs over music. I have been doing the band thing for over 30 years now and in all honesty, 90+ percent of the problems I have run in to can be easily traced to drugs and/or booze in some form or other. I am a supporter of full...

    Hey Helix users..

Outstanding! I know the journey too. I went from full to LT to HXFX to Pod Go back to LT. Same reason as you I couldn't do the limited DSP. I have a catchall patch that covers 95% of everything I do or will do. Not going to lie though I am on the FM9 waiting list. Fractal it seems is releasing...

Is it worth buying a Friedman pedal?

Yeah the lack of definition thing is what made me return the one I got. Great for classic metal though! I ended up with the 5150 by MXR when I was searching for a single high gain OD pedal and was pretty happy with it.

You absolutely nailed it on all counts. Totally agree.

    i dont get the hype

Funny you mentioned Bad Cat. I bought a Hot Cat 30 head years ago when the boutique thing was starting to really hit hard and I absolutely hated that amp. Which for me segues into something I don't get and never got. Cranking a Class A amplifier until it sounds like it's puking on itself. That...

Yeah I don't have any plans to dump my analog gear. Maybe pare down the pedals some. Of the 40 or so pedals I have I'd say over 20 of them are overdrives. There are maybe 3 or 4 of them that I really like.

Oh it's almost night and day comparatively from 2.9 to 3.1. It really depends on how you use it. I noticed the difference most when using it direct to PA or FRFR. It was a blanket update that increased oversampling which increased sound quality and feel overall.

I am retired from the workforce so I have the spare time. Both of the Tributes are brand new but there will be videos down the road for sure. I use the Park 75 brt amp for most stuff and goose it with TS and OCD.

We are definitely living in the Golden Age of guitar gear.

Very cool I loved the HX Effects when I had it. I just decided to try and go all in with direct to PA. I have used Helix LT off and on since 2018 and it wasn't til the 3.0 update where I was able to go fully in. I spent a lot of time with 3.0 (Beta testing) before it was released so I have a...

I am in 2 Tribute Bands. I suppose I could use just a 100w head and a half stack with a few pedals as those 2 are similar. Dio and Judas Priest. At the moment I am in 5 bands. 6 if I count the remote recording project I am involved in.

I still own about 40 analog pedals and 17 amps, and one of the things I enjoy doing is putting together a pedal board. I call it musicians lego's. It's kind of therapeutic to sit down and pick out 7-10 pedals and assemble them in an order that I think will work well, then get all the wires...

Peavey Valveking 112 - Pleasantly Surprised

Yep for sure. As soon as Hartley handed it over to his son-in-law, that company was dead to me as far as new stuff goes. I mean he was outsourcing overseas before that but they went all out as soon as he took over. If I run into good deals on the used market I will still buy Peavey but I won't...

Something different and I find myself considering it

Was/is there any difference between the ones with the brown face and the black face? I have wanted one of those MOSFET Lead 100's for a long time. Just curious.
