Marshall Head With The Best Clean Channel

Not having enough clean vol doesn't make sense for that amp of yours. Jimmy Page used that amp for the reunion tour because it's the loudest 30 watter out there. On channel 1 with the master cranked and the EQ flat, you should be able to bring up the gain to get the volume you need long before...

    Is this a 1936 Cabinet ?

    Mine's mono.

    Is this a 1936 Cabinet ?

Looks identical to my 1936 except mine has recessed side handles and G12T-75's.

Check out the Blackheart Killer Ant. 1 watt class A.

    Celestion Speaker Tone

Here's some good info-http://tubedepot.com/cel.html I find a combo with a vintage 30 for mids and a cab with G12T-75's for lows and highs work well together.

Bias Setting For A 4203 Combo, Please

If you buy the same kind of tubes as the ones you are replacing (same batch if you're lucky), you may be safe, but, changing brands definitely require a bias.

Lenny Kravitz's the new Velvet Revolver singer??

He's sent out a press release denying it. Too bad.

Anything you know about guitarists that other people don't

Angus doesn't know what kind of Marshall's he uses. He just asks for the big ones!

    An experiment

I plugged a SM48 into the speaker out of a PA once. It didn't survive.

Vintage30 or G12T-75(dont like the greenbacks)

Titanium saddles for Strat? I just got Graphtechs. Damn, I feel GAS coming on. My 1936 has the G12T's but I think I have someone suckered into trading one of them for the V30 in his Traynor combo. He's a metal player, and he heard the 75's give more chunk and less honk. The combination should...

    3210

I've got the 3203(same era 30w hybrid) and a JCM800 2x12 for $500. I thought I got a good deal. Your ss head might not peak much interest, but the 4x10 is the right cab for my head and all the mid-80's mini stacks. Very cool!

    need a bedroom amp

Fender VibroChamp XD. 5w as opposed to the Super's 15w. 15 watts is not bedroom levels. My band just did a lake party with a 15w 1x12 and a 30w 4x12 for the guitars unmiked, and they kept up with the drums and vocals going through 800 watts of monitor and 1200 watts bi-amped for the mains. I...

    Ibanez Tube Screamer

I prefer a Digitech Bad Monkey to the Tubescreamer because it has high and low controls as opposed to just a tone. But yeah, they both give you an extra "channel", be it as an overdrive, or as a clean boost.

    I need more bass!!!

Try a few different brands of preamp tubes. I've found Ruby's and GT's to have a little more bottom than Mesa or Sovtec.

    Angus/malcom sing.... marshall

Didn't they use 1974's in the studio? They don't even know what models they used on stage.

can i daisy chain with line out?

Send from the amp your guitar is plugged into to the return of the second amp. That way, you still have your MG's channels and power amp, and just the tube power amp from the second amp. I have an Artist 30 which is Marshall's first attempt at a hybrid. It has a solid state 2 channel preamp...

can i daisy chain with line out?

Gob from FX send of the first amp to the FX return of the second, then only the power amp is involved on the second amp.

    For those with Srats

My '03 MIM has just about got the frets wore out. My buddy's USA gets played as much or more, and his frets are fine. MIM bridge pickups are dirty. JB Jr. with coil tap fixed that!

    Marshall 4203 Artist 30

I'd like to see if a JJ would do much in my phase inverter slot. Can't get much info on the Artist though.

Is a 2x12 cab loud enough with a powerful drummer?

2x12's are a little more directional. You might have to angle it up at your head, but you should have all the volume you need. And yeah, Oranges are sweet!
