Six Marshalls, Sound Check, you decide

I like the JMP the 6100 and the VM. I can't decide. They each have their place but those 3 stand out to me. Rock n roll!

    JMD:1 and Doug Aldrich

Yeah I like your settings. I had a play and dialed in a little more Prescence and reverb just under 1. See what you think. I find I like a bit more presence on this channel. Its all personal taste of course. I love this amp!!!

    JMD:1 and Doug Aldrich

I used the Dio "Holy Diver Live" DVD as a reference to replicate Dougs JMP. I used Les Paul with Suhr Aldrich pickups and 1960ax cab with greenbacks. My settings are: Pre-Amp channel 13. Presence 7. Vol 7. Treb 7. Mid 6.5 Bass 5.5 Gain 7. I know there are variables that might not make...

    Recommend me a Marshall

G'day mate. I am Aussie too. I had been looking at the JMD:1 for a while after watching a few good vids on youtube. I managed to score an as new 100 watt head on ebay for $670. I have a few marshall amps including a 1959 Super Lead and JCM800 but right now they are just collecting dust. This JMD...

Potential JMD buyer with a few questions

the JMD is awesome!! I have a 100 watt head hooked to a 1960 cab with greenbacks and is sounds friggin awesome on so many different settings. There are some real stand out tone settings. Perfect for a cover band where you want to vary the tone from song to song with a stomp on the pedal board...

    JMD:1 and Doug Aldrich

Every tube amp sounds the same way untill its cranked. Dont forget the JMD is first and foremost a tube amp (with added extras) so the more the volume is cranked the compressed effect goes. I have my volume around 7 and control volume output with the master vol. No problems with dynamics at all.

    JMD:1 and Doug Aldrich

I can get similar tones to Doug from my JMD. I wish I could play like Doug also... I'm not saying anything like that. I have a JMD:1 100watt head mated to a 1960 cab with greenbacks and it sounds beautiful.

    JMP-1 is available again

Got one on the weekend. Its a fantastic amp. Think its all I really need now. So many good tones. I have not really played around with all the effects yet. Just flicking between Vintage, Crunch etc etc. and playing with the pre amp and tone knobs. Its a beast!!! So much more versitile than my 59...

    JCM 900 - awesome!

Playing gigs I find the 900 will cut through the mix a bit with its pre amp tone and can dominate the sound even after volume checks but like you say, you just roll up the volume and roll back the pre amp. This setting sounds especially good with a cranked Fuzzface. Very much Bonamassa tone!

    Milky Imploded EL34

I must admit I put in a matched quad because I thought that was the correct way to go about it.

    Milky Imploded EL34

One of my El34 Svetlana 9631 valves has sucked itself to death. Is this normal failure or does it indicate there could be other issues. I intend replacing all tubes with matching sets. Is this type of valve failure normal or is it time for an expert to give my amp the once over? The amp is a...
