I agree with you Marshall Watts, I have a Mesa 20/20 with a JMP-1 and the tones are a little Marshally but not what I hear from the Jmp-1 and Marshall 20/20 on sound clips. I've even set my preamp to the same settings as the Dave Murray settings and it's not really happening. right now I'm...
Yeah your likely right about that . I Think but I might be wrong, that the 20/20 was not really made to be heavy but more classic in the type of tube saturation it put out?
If that made any sense.
Hey guys, the Marshall EL84 20/20 rack amp and the Mesa 20 /20 rack amp both use EL 84 power tubes. Should both of these amps have similar tonal qualities or not? Thanks.
I think when men go back to sweet bluebird warbling and gentle twittling on their tremolo bars , then the Floyd Rose might go out of 'fashion' ? But until the roar of the soul melting, earth shaking mountain crumbling atomic dive bombs to the lowest depths of hell subside, The Floyd Rose will...
Hey guys, and you know who you are, after all your great advice, I ordered my sl1 today with an oiled neck , gunmetal gray paint , set back volume pot , and graphite re-enforced truss rod. Thanks for your help. :yesway:
Ok, so when I see axes like a wolfgang or a strat etc. the oiled or satin finished necks are naturally associated with the guitar but every other guitar I:E jacksons , lp's etc. look oddly strange with their necks oiled. Should that bother you after paying 24 or 25 hundred for a guitar? By the...
Geeze , that reply was so short, I almost didn`t see it. But with all the great ( and some humorous ) recommendations, It seems like oiled is the way to go. Thanks guys.
Hey, you guys are hilarious, with that being said ,is the speed of a neck that important say for a rhythm, second guitar type of player. I'll be honest with you , a shredder I ain't but I like shredder type guitars. I have a painted neck lower end Ibanez and the paint is very slick on it, but I...
Any one use a liquid foot+ mini? What's with the combined midi in/out socket. How would that work with a device that has separate midi ins and outs?
I tried one only . No sound unless I hook up the jfx-1 with it but when I unhook the jfx-1, no sound again. I think that little preamp in the jfx-1 is the only thing working through the ls-2. Anyway I returned it. For now I've put that idea to rest as I have OD'd on tylonol trying to get rid of...
Well we tried. I tried all the configurations I could think of. The preamps SHOULD hook up just like pedals but no luck. I think the ls2 might not be working or else it doesn't handle rack gear to well. Thanks for your help ,it was greatly appreciated.
It didn't work Hot tubes. I don't think the ls-2 works with rack gear. Back to the store to get my $80 back and spend $1200 on a gcx, gcp and cables.( my mother never raised any fools except one.) Thanks everyone for your help.
I don't know how to "show" stuff on forums, but I routed the lines as suggested.
Pre A to LS2 A return--Pre B to LS2 B return--LS2 output to FX--guitar to LS2 input.
Both A and B have a cable going to their 'returns' from the preamps but not coming out of their 'sends' , should there be?
Yes, I have tried each setting on the ls-2 with A and B and on some settings I get sound but it is always through the jfx-1. Maybe the ls-2 doesn't work with line level gear? their instructions only show pedals being hooked to it.
ls-2 in a rack
Ok, I tried it, no go. the same thing happened, when I switched to loop B i got sound, loop A, none. it turned out though the sound is not coming from the preamp, its coming from the JFX-1. I read that the JFX-1 has a little preamp in it. I double checked and unplugged wires as...
Well I tried to hook up a Boss LS-2 in my rack to A/B 2 preamps . The best I could do was actually play music with both preamps turned OFF ! (weird). Anyone know how to do this hook-up?
