So i have some old el34s that are no good but the filaments still work. So I was thinking about building a display and just have the filaments light up.
I want to make sure I have this correct. I need a 6v power supply, each tube needs 1.5a. I found this on amazon...
I guess technically it was an issue when I first got it. The side that was 93mv I could only turn down to that 61mv mark and that pot was all the way down. But I chalked that up to old bad tubes and it was fine when I put in new tubes.
The 93/29 was the old worn out power tubes that came in the amp. I swapped them for brand new JJ kt77s.
I set the bias on the new tubes at around 61 and watched the bias and it didnt take long to start climing up. But I shut it off when it got to around 71mv. That's when I decided to just pull...
The bias was set at 61mv on both sides before I pulled the board and the pots were both in the middle of their sweep.
Should I just replace them with the same marshall pots? Or is there something better?
So I picked up an 02 TSL100, when I got it the preamp tubes were original and the power tubes had seen better days.
When I checked the bias when I first got it. Side A read 93mv and side B read 29mv. So I got a complete retube with kt77s. Put all the new tubes in, I watched for run away...
I have a Madison Divinity II I picked up off reverb for $100. Guy said it didnt work and I was looking for a project. Ended up being a bad preamp tube and it needed a bias. Never heard one before I bought it... now it's my favorite amp.
I was never into lp style, never jived with them. Then a few years ago I picked up a epiphone lp prophecy on cl for $200. I bought it with the intention of reselling especially since it came stock with EMGs which in also not a fan of. But when I got it, the more I played it the more I fell in...
UPDATE: Finally found a schematic from dr. Tube (I had to email him for it) after speaking to him he said it is the ground break on the headphone jack being faulty and c30 (the capacitor r32 is connected to) was bad. Replaced r32 (10 ohm), c30 and jk2 (the headphone jack) and it works!
Really...
I recently picked up a B-52 stealth 4x12. It was not in the best condition when I got it (suprise I know) but it was not beyond help.
I replaced the bracers for the back used wood glue on all the interior joints to seal it up. Covered up the awful port on the back bottom.
It really sounds...
I already have replaced the transistors and the resistor. I still have no output out of the speaker outs. The headphone jack and the line out work just fine though.
Update: so I just got the MXR iso-brick. Got everything hooked up. Moved the NS2 to the front of the amp. I recently picked up a Pro Tone Misha Deluxe Overdrive and I have that through the loop of the NS2. And now this amp is dead quiet. And sounds amazing! I legitimately have found the "tone in...
So I have replaced all three of the transistors.... and nothing for the speakers outputs. And I realized the reverb does not work either. I dont know if it worked before or not to be honest. The headphone out and the line out work. If I run the line out to a cab it is actually pretty good...
So I have figured it out. It appears this amp has a parallel effects. The noise is a mix of my pedal power supply and the noise suppressor running through the loop. If I use just my tube screamer (with a standalone power supply) into the front and my mxr eq (with it's own power supply) in the...
