Marshall DSL40CR 'Pop' when changing channels

I realize it is a different amp (Head), but I use the 6 button foot switch with my DSL100HR, and don't get any pop and have never noticed any pause when switching channels. Hope you find a resolution for your issue!!

Classic Skynyrd Peavey sound from DSL100

Hello again. So in my quest to get classic 70's Skynyrd tone from my Marshall stack (DSL100HR, 1960A and B cabs, Squire Strat and Gibson Explorer) I have come up with the latest settings from the amp (100watt setting) and an EQ in the effects loop with the settings shown. I use the green clean...

    Footswitch Jack Question

I have a question about foot switch jacks. The two button foot switch that came with my DSL 100 HR head has tip rings sleeve quarter inch jack on it and yes it's the newer lighted foot switch. When I purchased the six button foot switch that just uses a regular tip sleeve guitar cable what is...

How to remove light dust from cabs

Yes, just dust, not grime. I was wondering about some anti-static rag or duster. Wasn't sure if they would lift the dust or not. I want to get it off before it gets worse, but it's not to the point I need to be spraying something on the Tolex or a rag yet.

How to remove light dust from cabs

I'm starting to get dust on my Amp Head and cabinets (black). I'm wondering how others remove the dust without rubbing it in or discoloring the cab. These are the 1960 A and B Lead cabinets. Thanks. Karl

Any luck with hum (power conditioner)?

YES!!! In my case I was originally having trouble with a bad hum in my MG15 amplifier, especially on the lead channel. I was even starting to suspect a faulty amp! No matter what I tried I couldn't get rid of the hum and didn't want it once I had my DSL 100 HR head and full stack! I tried...

1960 Lead A vs B cab tone help

The bottom/B cabinet definitely has more thump than the top A cab. If I put my ear in front of a "B" speaker, and then in front of one of the forward facing bottom speakers in the "A" cabinet, the sound is different. I know the "A" cabinet sitting on top of the "B" puts those speakers at ear...

1960 Lead A vs B cab tone help

I have a DSL 100! Head and the 1960 Lead A and B Cabinets. People say the A cabinet has a brighter sound than the straight front B cabinet, and that is true with my cabinets. I prefer the tone from the B cabinet to the angled A top cab. My question is, is there any way to make the A cabinet...

    Marshall Origin 50H hum

I can't help but feel your pain!!! I struggled for two months or so with him from my Marshalls. I finally resorted to turning off circuit breakers one at a time to see if I could determine what circuit the hum was coming from. Turned out it was one of those inexpensive refrigerators in my...

Help with 1960 Lead cabinet speaker switch

I decided NOT to try re-soldering the circuit board that looks ok. I'm going to assume the inside of the switch is going bad. I'm in the process (almost done) of re-wiring the cab, which is easy with the connectors already on the wires, to Series-Parallel 16 Ohms. I already had a jack and a...

Help with 1960 Lead cabinet speaker switch

I ran the numbers again after cleaning the contacts and whatever would get into the switch. L Stereo 6.7. R Stereo 6.7 4 Ohm Mono got 3.9 this time and 16 ohm got 13.3 to 13.5 but stayed consistent each time I held the probes on the cable. I have decent quality jacks. Is it hard to just wire...

Help with 1960 Lead cabinet speaker switch

Oops. Sorry. Those were the regular cables I had bought. I am actually using the "Pro" versions. 3' for top cab, and when I get it, this 5' for the bottom.

Help with 1960 Lead cabinet speaker switch

Cable just tested fine, and these are the heavy duty Hosa cables I have. So do I try reheating those six contacts or do they look ok and it's probably inside the switch that needs to be cleaned?

Help with 1960 Lead cabinet speaker switch

I don't want to be a doubting Thomas, but before I re-heat something that may not be fault, can you folks look at some clearer pics. Thank you.

Alright. And is this cleaner ok to use on the switch?

Help with 1960 Lead cabinet speaker switch

Do you mean the 6 small joints in the very middle of the board? I do have a quality soldering pencil for circuit boards. I just checked ohm readings with my Klein multimeter before taking the cab apart. I realize you need a specialized tester to get actual accurate readings, but here is what...

Here are three pictures of the circuit board that I took when I got the cab back in May.

Help with 1960 Lead cabinet speaker switch

I'm sure this has been discussed, I've seen threads but can't find them this time :( I have a used but like mint 1960 Lead "A"/ top slant cabinet. I did remove the back when I first got the cabinet to make sure it had the right speakers in it. Everything looked original and the speaker...

Chasing Allen Collin's Tone. Pick help

T Hats where I learned about the Mel Bay picks!! Glad you saw it as well. You are right, there is a lot of info I never knew growing up as well. But then again, I started learning Skynyrd stuff and the like by playing records over and over!! Then cassettes and later CD''s were a blessing...

Chasing Allen Collin's Tone. Pick help

"If" the green Bel Ray picks were actually a "thin" pick, is that actually what he would have been using for all those great power rhythms and blistering leads? I couldn't think pick recovery/response would be fast enough with that thin of a pick.
