    Ok I finally managed to open it and yes it is an 1987. One could be tempted to do some mods but I will just keep it as it.

    Hi!! Just got this Marshall JCM 800 2204 50W. It is supposed to be a 1987. Is there any way to read the date from the serial number? Still have to open it an look on the chassis.. thanks
