I found a good deal on one of these and I have always wanted a Marshall. Right now I play through a boss katana and I do a lot of my practice through headphones. How is the emulated out on this little Marshall? Perhaps there’s a better budget friendly Marshall out there that would work better...
If you want the grand saga, the story is in the listing, Looking for a good home for a good amp that was so close, but just not the one for me. Asking $379+45 shipping, obo. Free pickup if you're near the Baltimore MD area...

Is there something special with marshall dsl 1 hr thanks emil
So I found a good condition slant cab from a Lead 12 Mini Stack for $50 online. Needed an amp for it, so I grabbed a DSL1HR from Sweetwater. Looks like they were almost made for each other. Put in a 16 ohm Greenback and voila - my new living room rig.
Has anyone figured out how to use the DSL1CR's (or HR, I think they are the same in this sense) emulated output?
I tried connecting a pair of (stereo) headphones to it, while keeping the built-in speaker connected but nothing was coming through the headphones.
I'd like to know whether I'm...
Hi! I'm Lennert from The Netherlands.
I just bought a DSL1HR because I always loved the Marshall sound. The best tone I ever had was my strat, into an Ibanez WH10 through a small single 12 combo. I was hoping to get near that sound again.
After hooking it up to a new Celestion Greenback I...
Never owned a marshall head before and want to know if I can plug a dsl1hr into the speakers of my 2x12 jcm900 combo. Amp output is 16ohm, what plugs in where?
Many thanks,
Rob
So I play primarily the bluesier tunes of Hendrix and Trower. Using an Amp that has a creamy breakup, can generate tone from fretboard vibrato, and is sensitive to guitar volume control is important when playin those guys. Ive been looking for an affordable Marshall -sounding tube low watt head...
First off I hate DSLs, theyre too compressed sounding, even with the mids max'd its still not open sounding how I like. I like the idea of having a tiny Marshall just for fun I was thinking of getting one to mess around with but not if I cant get the tones I want out of it. I got thinking what...
Well I decided to venture into the Marshall DSL line today, a DSL1HR. Albeit starting at the bottom. Got a good deal on a used head off verb, see how it goes. I'll be all by myself with a Marshall tube head with a loop.. ;) Looks in good shape, 5 hrs use. Curious to see the hubbub about these...
Hi All, long time reader, first time poster here.
Due to pretty sensitive ears (tinnitus) I have been playing a strat unplugged for the last decade or so, never amplified.
I recently saw the Marshall DSL1 advertised and thought I would try my luck as I love the sounds of classic rock and tube...
Playing for over 40+ years, I've tried a whole bunch of amps for home use, with varying success. Notable candidates:
Fender twin reverb: why not? A classic, beautiful clean sounds, great reverb, but unfortunately not home use. It was an amp I dearly wanted but quickly realised was a totally...
Here we go:
So which one sounds better to you?
Please only vote for sound - not for the overall package and specs.
The Blackstar has no effects loop and I personally wouldn't buy it for that reason.
Please feel free to vote and comment!
Haven't heard any talk about these lately, thought I'd share this play through I found online, all I can say is wow! Clean to mean and does it well, this video makes me want to order one just to try at home. :metal:
