I'm recently interested in getting a cheap (but good) multi-effects pedal, I've had Digitech before and want to try something different, I found the Zoom G1X Four, its got good reviews. I want to use it to switch between rhythm and lead tones on one button and turn effects on and off with the...
Hello!
My question is - would I be able to get a decent metal tone, and by that I mean Metallica, Iron Maiden, etc. (classic stuff, nothing modern), with the Marshall Origin 20 combo if I use pedals? Share your opinions and discuss :)

I have a JCM 800 and now i have some pedals on my radar to push my amp for more distortion. I play fast rythm punk music.
No punk rock or pop or that kind of stuff.
I was thinking that maybe i could even stack 2 pedals for more push into the amp but then it feels like the amp is at max, and i...
Hi,
I am powering my pedalboard with a Truetone 1 Spot CS12.
I use 10 pedals of 9V. The Truetone got 9 outputs of 9V. So I have to use one of the outputs for 2 pedals (like 2 overdrives).
I just discovered that one of my pedals (a Tc Electronic Polytune) got an output for charging directly...
In a few decades at the rate we are going there will be more records made using non Marshal sounds. What will be touted as and associated with the Marshall sound may end up being some third party pedal manufacturer such as Menatone, Friedman, or any number of pedal manufacturer.
I just read an...
So I begin my return to gear acquisition.

The dark mouse by Donner (party of 5) and Golden Horse by Mosky. The dark mouse being a Rat copy and the horse being a clon clone.
And they are both awesome. I mean fifteen years ago my local...
I just discovered that putting a 12AU7 in V2 of my SV20 makes my dirt pedals sound way better. It’s an old black plate 5963 (12AU7 variant) that I had sitting around, that I popped in out of curiosity.
Sure, the amp runs cleaner, but even when the volumes are up to the point that I’m getting...
I don’t mean something that no one uses, I mean what are all the clones based on? Like, 80% of overdrives are tube screamer clones. Fuzzes are usually based on the fuzz face, tone bender, or some kind of big muff. So what are the unique circuits that everyone copies?
Tube Screamer, Timmy, Klon...
Hey all,
I'm brand new fresh to the forums; however, not to Marshall. I owned a Marshall AVT100 (with matching 4x12 half stack) head a decade ago, and it quickly became well used. What an amazing sound - I fell in love with the sound of Marshall then. Long story short, I purchased a DSL100...
Hello guys!
I'm considering saving a few bucks by selling my ss amp to buy a single channel amp. I'll be playing several pedals through it, which is why I do not need thousands of preloaded crunch/clean and overdrive channels. I am looking for a relatively inexpensive and pedal friendly...
I don't have a music room. My music gear was stacked in my home office, right by the front door of the house. With being stuck at home, I finally got it all organized. Guitars hanging neatly on the wall. A furniture maker made me an amp cabinet to my specs that matches the other furniture. Now...
Hey guys!
I am a new member of the community, and today i'd like to ask a question regarding onstage equipment. Next year I'll be performing with my band several Metallica songs, and I need to know a way to seamlessly switch between the clean and distortion channels with my pedals (I have a Boss...
I run a marshall 1987x with a behringer noise reducer and a DOD yjm 308 and the noise reducer does NOTHING!! Can anybody give me some tips as to what would be an ideal noise gate/suppressor for a high gain situation? I play alot of malmsteeny stuff btw thx.
Hey all! Created a new video of the DSL100 head and what it sounds like with my own custom O/D pedal into the clean channel; turns out it sounds great to my ears.
Hi, I play through a Marshall DSL40c. I use the OD2 setting with the gain quite low...3. I have a Seymour Duncan pickup boost which is great in that it gives more gain...but with that more Volume. I’d like a pedal that increases the Distortion but not the Vol to put in front of an already...
Scoffed up a few 90s era DOD FX series pedals recently, mostly for nostalgia. Many of them sound pretty good, specifically the modulation based effects. I have a handful of the more recent iterations too including the Gunslinger, Preamp OD 250 re-re-re-issue, and Gonkulator reissue.
Chime in...
So will Sweetwater have a run on pedal seconds? Zero tone suck.. Lol.. Alex pops in @20:21..
I thought my board was over the top.. I have 2 Temple Trio 28s, good stuff.
