Are JCM2000 amps “voiced” for the Celestion G12T-75 speaker?

I prefer my TSL100 with V30 if I use one cab. I use 75T on It if I play with full stack.
The TSL122 came stock w/ a Wolverine speaker. You could upgrade it to V30...

The Wolverine was a bland speaker. Kind of like a hi-fi midrange speaker. That was supposedly the speaker the TSL was "voiced" for...

The TSL has a peculiar midrange frequency. It tends to work better by way of subtraction, than boost, but, you don't want to scoop it too much. It has a fine line. Once dialed in, it sounds great, but, you can't just crank up the mid's like you would on most other Marshall amp's...

That said, the midrange doesn't play well w/ all speakers. The 75 are a safe bet for almost any amp. They are pretty evenly toned & are mellow, w/ decent breakup.

The DSL, is more traditional in it's tone (midrange) & goes w/ just about anything...

Use the speakers you like the sound of!

I don't know about JCM2000s, but the JVM410 was apparently designed using G12T75 speakers.

I think G12T75s sound awful - flat, harsh and boxy. They are the first things I change in a cab (for V30s)...

Do you stick with the tyres used during the development of your car, or choose the ones you like best?

Now...is that with all your different guitars & pickups?

My Jcm 2000 sounds glorious with the g12t75 cab
I can see changing a 12” speaker in a combo for $200 but in a 4x12 cab or a full stack of 8? Holy shit man they’re like $200/piece for green backs or cream backs or V30’s etc. that’s a $1000 cab and now almost double the purchase price. I’ll stick with my JVM and 1960 A&B cabs with the stock speakers, I think it sounds great. Only one I’d maybe gamble on $200 is my DSL 40CR with the stock V type. That speaker gets a lot of flack and I think it sounds great too. Maybe I’m deaf haha. If anything I’d buy a cream back and try that but if I don’t like it I’m $200 out.

Thats why you look for a whole cab for sale instead of buying individual speakers. I bought a 1960bv w v30s for $250, and a jcm900 1936 w v30s for $225..an '81 jcm800 1982a w G12-80s for $275...cabs by carvin ect. seem to be even cheaper, my buddy bought a legacy v30 4x12 cab for $150..creams and greens are harder to come by, but v30 cabs can be found..at least in the midwestern u.s. where I'm at.

So what would be a better more suitable speaker for my DSL 40CR to try? I play mostly hard rock and metal. I love tight bottom end and crushing mids.

My 40c still has the imo terrible 70/80 in it, and I haven't experimented changing it yet, but guys who have changed to a creamback love them.. which is what I'll stick in mine when I find one reasonable. I only paid $225 for my 40c,..pretty much mint, so another hundred isn't a huge deal if I find one for that.

Well I’ve never heard a greenback or creamback in person so it’s hard to say.

I’m in Canada my 40CR was $1000 new and a creamback is $230 on amazon. So Canada is pretty much double.

Holy mackerel..that's high. Yea, I bought mine from a buddy who got it in a trade. I wasn't looking for one but when he offered it to me for $225 I had to jump on it. So far no switching/ cutting out issues that plague some of the 40c's.
