Love my SD-1, and am going to (re)try a DS-1 to slam into my JMPs..it should get me a good classic metal/NWOBHM tone.

It's all personal preference. I don't use a metal zone pedal as I like to use my amp to get my tone. To me the metal zone pedal sounds good through a good tube amp using the clean channel. I very rarely use my clean channel if at all. Using a metal zone with jcm 800 to me would take away from the amps tone. The metal zone can color your amps tone but if that's what you are going for then great. I have always used boss pedals and like them a lot. The metal zone pedal is just not one I would choose to use especially with a jcm 800. I personally love Michael Schenkers tone and he uses a jcm 800 with an occasional overdrive pedal for solos. I would never use a metal zone padal when using my overdrive channel. It would just muddy things up.
