I can't find any threads on here for the good ol' Charvel so post em up boys and girls. These are my babies.

The white one is a late 80's model 2 to which I have added a black pick guard, an original mid 80's Floyd and a Dimarzio Tonezone pup.

The blue one is again late 80's and a Model 3. It originally had HSS but I routed out the neck for HSH. It currently has a Dimarzio Fred in the bridge and a PAF Pro at the neck with the stock Jackson single coil. This one has a late 80's Floyd Rose II trem.

I bought the Model 2 new in 1987 (I think) and traded the Model 3 with a friend in 1989 for a Charvel dinky bodied model 3a with a humbucker and slanted single coil. Both guitars are awesome and sound great thru the DSL. I'm considering putting the Tonezone in the 3 and getting an SD JB trembucker for the 2.

Damn ToneZone...thems some pretty guitars. DO they sounds and play as pretty as they look?

Thanks for the comments guys. They both play great. The blue one has a slightly thicker tone than the white one and is also noticeably heavier. As far as I was aware all of the Japanese manufactured late 80's models were basswood bodied so I guess one is a more dense piece of basswood.

The white one could do with a proper set up job as I recently put the Charvel neck back on as I had an Ibanez wizard neck on it for ages. I just bolted the old one back on and tweaked the truss rod. It plays well enough with a low action and no real buzzing but I will probably get it serviced just to make sure.

I need to get some spare bits for the floyd II as it's a little worn as you can see.

They are awesome guitars and in my opinion there is little to touch them in todays market for less than £1000 for tone, build and feel.

I'd love to get another model 2 and do a Warren "cross swords" paint job on it but the used guitars go for upwards of £500 on evilbay normally.

I wish I had some good pics of mind...red model 1. I love the thing to death, Charvels are great and really I wish I would have gotten one with a Floyd instead of my Kramer.

I love the Kramer but the Charvel sounds better by a lot to me. My Kramer is sterile sounding to me.
