This is the spot to share your favorite settings.
Don't be shy, lets see how you get your tone!
What settings do you use most often? What about your favorite artist?
Most importantly, how DO you get your DSL40c to sound so great?

Anyone have a good Alice in Chains and Van Halen setting?

Thx

I run lead 1 gain 6 or 7, trb mids at 5 bass and Resn at 7 pres 3 med heavy pic
Les Paul:) Picks makes a huge difference say a .50 tortex thinner bright tone, Ultex I like is .98 warmer tones great on the red channel. Have some new V pics that are brighter and louder.

Great generic Rock settings for use with Les Paul:

Cabinet = 1936 (closed back 2x12, DSL40 speaker not used)
C19 = removed
Channel = Ultra lead 1
Gain = 7
Treble = 3
Middle = 6
Mass = 4
Tone shift = out
Pres = 2
Res = 2
Rev = 6

2002 Epi LP Classic for Rolling Stones (e.g. Gimme Shelter)

Classic Crunch for intro and Lead 1 for solos :naughty:
Vol 2
Gain 8+
Treble 3
Mid 10
Bass 10
Reverb 2
Presence 10

Gain a touch lower on Lead 1... volume to taste.

Oh, and for a nice change, sometimes I run the stock Seventy 80 or change over to a 2x10 vintage Altec alnico closed back cab.

My day to day sound front end boosted with a Bad Monkey, level full, no gain, bass slightly higher than treble. V30 equipped

Crunch gain 7
Lead 1 gain 4
Treble 5
Mid 6
Bass 4
Pres 5
Res 5 + to taste

Without the boost
Lead 1 gain 7 -9 or lead 2 gain 4
Crunch not gainy enough for me

The question is complicated by my MXR. For the most part my onboard EQ's are straight up and I'm tweaking from there with the pedal. I don't keep the Resonance or Presence in one place for more than a day or two. I think today resonance is on 8 and presence is nearly off. 2-3 days ago Presence was around 6 and Resonance around 7. I'm searching. My green channel gain is pegged and red channel gain is around 3, down from 10. The volumes are both pegged and I'm running Carls Speaker Soak to keep the volume managable and the sonics as hot as possible, hot as in, the most bang for the buck from the tubes without being too loud for the neighborhood. The attenuator is set at about 98%. LP tone is set around 6, LP volume around 8 but I'll dial it up for a boost.
On the MXR, the low low's are set high, the low mids are set around 0. The mids float between -3 and +4, depending on my mood, the mid-highs around 3 and high highs around 5-6. I generally keep the volume and gain sliders on the MXR on neutral. It might help if I start messing with those a bit more. Yesterday I noticed that my amp's sound had turned into middy hell. That may mean the JJ EL34 II's have broken in, I'm not sure. It was the same today but I didn't feel like messing with it. Something sure changed. I suppose a cat could have changed something or the wife...until yesterday I was really happy with the tone, now I have to tweak it til it's right again. -Rod-

Still dialing this one in, but I'm liking it...

Jethro Tull

Cross-Eyed Mary (Aqualung)

2002 Epi LP Classic
Middle position
Bridge Vol 7-8
Bridge Tone 4-5
Neck Vol 7-8
Neck Tome 4-5

DSL40C
Channel: Lead 1 (I know. Right?)
Vol: To taste
Gain 3
Treb 1
Mid 8
Bass 9
Rev 3
Presence 10
Res 5

Pop some harmonics on the picking a bit (Tusq 1.00) for some cool expression on the licks and fills.

YMMV. Caveat emptor. Carpe diem. :naughty:
