Interesting. It originally had a black pick guard which comes with it. Not sure how i want to go with the guard yet but black with those pups would be cool.

Thanks. 50/50 chance it will be killer or a dud. I have been pretty good with getting decent axes online, no real duds yet, fingers crossed. lol.

That's been my ratio as well in quite a few brands. Last two Fenders left me disappointed.

The funny thing is that my $600 SG is one my favorite guitars.

Years ago my friend had a US Tele and i plugged it into a 4100 and i was quite impressed with the tone of that one. I had assumed twang was all i would get but it was thick, and smooth. I was playing metal on it.
