I can't play small guitars. I'm like a giant, so me with a Les Paul looks like I'm playing a ukulele. The same kinda goes for Telecasters and Stratocasters too. That's why I normally migrate to hollow/semi-hollow guitars or stuff like Flying V's and Explorers.

Me with a Lester, it's abnormally small on me.

And me with a Tele, not as bad, but still a tiny guitar.

The way a guitar looks is almost as important to me as how it plays, but I have honestly never thought about how a guitar looks on me. I have watched my hands in the mirror while playing, but I've never strapped one on and looked in the mirror to see how it looked.

I'm so bad I even make sure I have a matching strap for my guitars. The look is equally as important as the music when you're a performing rock band.

To me once the strap is on, it is part of the of the look of the guitar.

Now this has got me wondering what my guitars look like strapped on and I only have a little 12"x12" mirror in the bathroom.

6'2" plus a 1" heel on my boots. I'm fucking gigantic, that's why I play big hollow bodies or my Flying V. They look like normal guitars on me.

I look almost like I'm not a giant bean pole with my V though:

And the biggest guitar Gretsch makes looks like a Les Paul on me:

Rad mic stand Frankie. All you need is a skull beer holder and you will be all good.

Anybody that has a guitar that makes them look gay, skinny, fat, ugly, old then send it my way to boost up my collection. If I had a Mary Kay colored square guitar that had delicious tone then I would be playing it because I don't give a shit what people think now that I just turned 50. Tone don't have looks.

 LOL

"Does this guitar make my ass look fat?"

Flashy stuff, like fluorescent Ibanez and Vai's JEM, Gibson Supremes or 'Tree of Life', PRS's, and most 'Signature' paint jobs' like Zakk' bullseye, Kerry's tribals, Randy's polka dots, Dimebag's, Mustaine's, SRV's, double-necks, 'broken-mirror' finishes, etc....

I have a daphne blue strat, which is a bit 'pushing it'

I like my guitars to be black! or sunburst! or maybe white or red or natural...:dude:

same here, at 6'3",
I bought my Gibson Explorer in 1984 and it was an instant love affair, I struggle to play any other guitar, they just feel all wrong,
I thought at my age (late 40s) I maybe should play a less "metal" guitar, I have bought and sold so many guitars in the last 3 years and I have come to the conclusion that I am just an Explorer man and that's an end to it,

and to be honest whenever I have shown up with my Explorer, whatever the style of music it always gets a positive reaction, people love it :D

Pretty sure I saw him post w/in the last couple/few weeks (though I could be wrong) ... definitely not around as much as he use to be, however.

Frankie, where are you, dude?
