Looking to get a new rig, TSL 602 has done me well but I'm itching for the best Marshall can offer. So, without going into too much techy detail (as its all subjective of course) what wuld the top 5 holy grail Marshall's be for classic rock tones - usually the amps that newer models like to emulate etc. (we play ACDC covers + half a set of 80/90's rock and metal). I'm not talking 'Jim's first amp he ever made is No.1', just a pecking order of Plexi, JVM, DSL40 etc etc. Thanks chaps.....

For AC/DC tones and other classic rock tones at reasonable volume levels, I'm a big fan of the 2061x. This amp really nails the whole early AC/DC tones.

Your amp actually should do that fairly well, it's subjective whether gou need new speakers.

For playing a variety of music like that, regardless of what is considered holy grail, may I add:
2203
6100
JVM
Jubilee
I think you may have troubles gigging a 1959 unless you attenuate, which is fine, not sure how easy it is to do metal. 2203 with an OD, JVM, 6100 all do this easily and more and do not sound "worse" as it were.
Subjective and yadda yadda

Those are the best five I've owned, and in order.

The only other Marshall I've owned is the 5005.

1987, JMP 2204, JMP 2203, 2555X, JTM45 [clone] in no order. Which ever one I happen to be playing at the moment reminds me why it stays. If the house was on fire it would be a struggle - the JTM45 & 1987 would be the first out the door. Speakers elevate the grailness - GB's, V30's, Scumback M75 or J75LD.
