I've bought whole guitars cheaper. As a matter of fact my SG was $600 lol.

As much as I like Gibson, they've lost their damn mind with that pricing.

Remember that you're in a place where people idolize amps mostly from the 70s so they can fawn over their heros from the 80s

Even much of the new marshall stuff is hung up on that demographic. Because that's where the money is.

Yep so when you get done playing your guitar you can desolder your pick ups and store them in this nice protective case

What I have heard about early pickups is that they were all different,
as they were wound by hand with people stopping winding when they felt like it.

But if buying this makes you feel better about playing guitar why not ?
1K is not big money to a lot of people.

I guess Gibson have put a lot of work into researching this and testing what sounds good to the target market,
thats probably what you are paying for.
