Just to let you know a few days ago I decided to leave the community and I am no longer an active member of the Marshall Forum.
I was not planning to make a fuss or tell anyone, but I can see due to people posting to threads like the Big Girls Blouse, (Twin and his great efforts) and lads contacting me by PM about the relaunch of Free Guitar Lessons tabled for this month, I cannot just move on ignoring them... I should say something.



I will answer and keep in contact with my friends through PM by occasionally logging in like an email account, but I am no longer an active member of the forum.
I do not to intend to make any further posts… I think I have posted enough this past week and most if it bloody awful!
Also all the techs are my mates now and are on my Skype, I have no need of the forum for troubleshooting.


If in the future there is a change of feel to the forum backstage or the rules perhaps you will be generous enough to accept me back into the community.
Until then, if it ever comes, I will say I am very sad about leaving.
I have made so many friends here and this forum has been a very important part of my life after the loss of my wife, I joined exactly one year after and it was meant to be..

....and though I never admitted it at the time, I know my terrible playing tortured you all in the days it could go into the backstage for higher traffic…. I thank you all for humouring me and saying it was ok when you thought 'Oh God NOT ANOTHER!!'


It was also great to meet by Skype the 15 guys for the lessons. Also those like Maurice (LesPaulnMarshall) who visited me from Holland this year and Gavin (Moving Air) both of whom are now solid mates of mine.
There are no excuses for others to not to visit me and the Pink Panther if you are over this way. Others have and all are welcome from the forum.











I will make no more comment on the reasons except to say, it is not toys out of the pram over recent events, I nearly left the week before this all kicked off.

Simply, the Backstage is dead to me and that is where I used to spend most of my time… no competitions, no video music or other crossover from the other sections... I feel the decision to bring in political religious content has been very bad for the forum - people like me leave all the time, I am no different.

I know the other guy who left this week I have spent sometime in the past months chatting to him by PM to keep him.
Also my mate Gavin - Moving Air who I met here and is now a good mate as we live only 20 miles from eachother was another casualty a few weeks before the bun fight.
Silently the content takes out a lot of good people.
Responsibility for these losses rest on the decision to allow divisive content in.

All that said it is not our site and I can like it or move on right?
Exactly... So I will chose another forum to spend my time on (invitations or suggestions now very welcome! )

John, this is a huge loss.
I believe that you can get a feel for genuine people without ever meeting them in person. I know that you sir, are one of the most genuine people that I never got to meet in person.
You enriched this forum while you were here. I'm proud to call you one of my friends.
This forum has just lost some of it's charm
