Cab for sale on local CL paired with a Gene-Benz El Diablo 100 for what I think may be a crazy low price.
I could probably roll the head an get the cab for next to nothing net.
I've heard good things about these cabs.

Wondering about the speakers - not a V30 fan, but I love the Marshall G12 Vintage speakers I got in a recent trade.
Can 'o worms, but any opinions?

I have the bottom cab and like it. Same dimensions as a Mesa cab. Goes great with my Fuchs, can be a little boomy with the Friedmans. They don’t really sound like V30s to me—I’ve had Mesa cabs and I feel like they def sound different

They're practically all the same speaker. Same magnet, same voice coil, basket, frame... Paper, dust cap and doping might be different between variations...

It's a Vintage 30 variant just like the Marshall G12 Vintage. I've got a bunch of variants including these and I feel they sound about as different from each other as one Vintage 30 will sound from another. I want to believe the Vintage 30MF is "darker" but I've never really A/B'd them against anything. I have some Vintage 30's that sound great and some that are too bright. Some of the worst sounding ones I have are Marshall Vintage speakers out of a 2551BV cab. They were pretty bright and not generally articulate. That's surprising to me. I just put them in an old beat up cab and only use it with really dark sounding amps.

The MF280 is a good cab with good drivers. The amp however, is garbage. Yank the tubes and throw the Genz Benz in the trash. That thing sounds terrible.

Cheers

Thanks.
Was asking $500 for both.
I emailed the seller last night and got no reply.
Listing is gone this morning.

Thread resurrection:
I may have just agreed to buy a MF280B with a DSL100HR...
Another local CL listing that popped up last night.

Emailed twice and finally got a reply.
Confirmed 280w cab & original speakers.
Not really interested in the DSL, but $650 for both seemed insane.
I think I could flip the amp & get the cab for next to nothing net.

Buy the lot, sell the amp and you have a great deal on a great cab!

Great score and at a great price!

I had a single V30MF for a little while and I noticed the dust cap is different than the standard Marshall V30.
So not exactly the same speaker...I liked it about as much as most V30's. But I'd love to try that MF xlarge cab!
Good job!
