I ordered a replacement Celestion 8 15 for my beater amp, a MG15DFX. But the speaker that came is a 4 ohm, and I think the (awful) original is 8 ohm. Can I get away with the 4 ohm Celestion in my amp?

Sorry no. If the amp is designed for 8 ohms , if will likely blow the output stage with 4 ohms.

Ah, OK. I can return it and get an 8 ohm. Thanks.

Bummer ……

Well, it turned out OK. I took the 4 ohm back to GC for credit. They didn’t have the 8 ohm, but Amazon did, and I have Prime. So if anybody is interested in how the Celestion works in an MG, I’ll post in a few days.
