I have a JCM 800 a cab with 75's and looking at a used B cab with V30's will they mix ok? keep them in separate cabs or mix 2 75's and 2 V30's in each? or V30's do mix well with 75's at all?

Thanks

I have 2 75's ,1 vintage 30 & a greenback in my 412 cab . Sounds good but the vintage 30 is way louder than the rest .

I personally like 75's with Greenbacks. Mix well together. I never liked Vintage 30's with my Marshalls.

Vintage 30s and G12T-75s do not play well together. There's nothing inherently wrong with mixing them in the same cab, or having separate cabs, but the Vintage 30s will stomp all over the 75s. Vintage 30s are significantly louder than G12T-75s.

I tried mixing the V30's and GT75's in a cab...didn't like it at all.

Whether it was the Jube head or the JVM...one or the other but not both.

I will say the Jube favors the V30's as did the JVM, but the JVM is about the only amp I could make the GT75's really sound great.

The JVM does sound good with 75s, and it's designed to go with 75s, so it all works out.

The JVM sounds good with just about everything else too. I think the JVM is great with Greenbacks.

The V30s are 3 dB louder than the 75s. Noticeable but not crazy. I have a 2x12 with 1 of each in and the 75s add some low end that the V30 didn't have. I put 1 V30 in my 4x12 with 3 x 75s. That works fairly well to me with a JVM. Just adds a bit of that honk.

I tried V30 with Creamback 65.... It buried the Creamback... I did try with G12-35XC, it somehow complimented each other... The mids are accentuated, sounds a little tighter and clearer, even with the master volume pushed...

The volume difference is noticeable up close. From a distance, I do think the speakers complement each other. For me it mitigated that nasal high mid v30s have to my ear. I ran a rockerverb MK3 through this combination and liked it a lot.

-SPEAKER EFFICIENCY IS VERY IMPORTANT-

-BUT NOT EVERYTHING- THE VOICING OF THE SPEAKER IS JUST AS, IF NOT MORE SO, YOUR FIRST PRIORITY, I HAD A - UBER CAB- THAT HAD THIS MIX IN AN "X" PATTERN & POLY FILL,..... IT WAS THE FIRST TIME I EVER LIKED EITHER SPEAKER,.. I HAD ALREADY DUG OUT 4 GREENBACKS TO PUT IN,... WELL, THEY NEVER MADE IT IN, THEN MY -INVESTIGATION- BEGAN, WHY??? THAT OPENED A CAN OF WORMS THAT STILL KICKS MY ASS EVERY-SINGLE-TIME-----(I THINK I GOT IT)--{BANG~BISCIUT---OH NO I +8DONT)------------{BITCH SLAPPED WITH THE TRUTH}-(AGAIN-!!!!!)- TODAY MY THEORY ABOUT CABS & SPEAKER'S IS -(EVERYTHING MATTER'S)- BY THE SPEC SHEET V-30's & GREENBACKS SHOULD NOT WORK, YET THEY ARE A GREAT MATCH.
-IS A PAIR OF SPEAKER -(Z)- OVER POWERING THE PAIR OF SPESKER -(X)-
-LOUSER SPEAKER'S- ON THE BOTTOM, QUIET PAIR ON THE TOP-(THIS IS THE GREENBACK & V-30's ARE "USUALLY" DONE.
-------------OR------------
-3 OF THE LESS EFFICIENT/QUIETER SPEAKER'S -(GREENBACKS)- ONE -(V-30)-
-----------------------OR---------------------
-ONE LESS EFFICIENT SPEAKER -(AS IN ONE GTEENBACK UP TOP & TWO V-30's ON THE BOTTOM)- THE SINGLE 8ohm, 55hz GREENBACK OVER POWERS THE PAIR OF V-30 ON THE BOTTOM, MIGHT HAVE TO SWITCH UM!!

*NOTE* -8 ohm speakers are louder than the 16 ohm version-

Well contrary to some previous opinions I think they sound great together. The 75's are quite scooped while the V30's offer a midrange focus that compliments the 75's perfectly to give a really good balance....Still quite mid focused thanks to the V30's being 3db louder, but the 75's still bring plenty to the party.

I think they sound pretty good together, I'm not keen on G12-75 on their own. It
sounds quite aggressive and rocky. Personally I put them in the same cab.
The V30 is a lot louder.

This is the ultimate combination of recordability as far as i'm concerned. 2204 amp and a quadbox of 2 x V30, 2 x G12-75... if you play in the vicinity of modern pop/rock/metal realms.

Also the combination of the Bogner Uberkab. I'm not sure i've ever heard a better sounding 4x12 than an Uberkab.

In audible terms, V30s will drown out the G12-75s for the most, but in the few areas the V30 is lacking the G12-75 will bite through.

It really doesn't drown it out. Its noticeably louder, but the G12t-75 adds some frequencies, making the v30 sound less spikey. They complement each other to my ears.

here is a cool setup i liked, say in an A cab using just the A as a halfstack, the top speakers fire out at a nice angle where the bottoms fire out at your feet.

The cool part with the V30s since they are 3db louder run those at the bottom and the T75s at the top. It gave the quad a really cool balance that i thought sounded great! specially if you step back from the cab a little.

I actually liked this setup better the the X pattern setup
