Selling my Bruce Egnater modded 81' JCM 800 tomorrow. And torn between these two. I own an 81' jmp and an 76' jmp. Help me decide if you can. Thanks in advance 1981 marshall jcm 800 2203 - $1250 (taylor mi)

Lol can only do one guys. The cab is a 2034 model I think. Not a lot of info on em.

Without seeing and playing through them, I'd take the '76 and sell off the cabinet. Either way its win-win!

you could always sell it and get a jcm down the road.

i'm guessing the 76 is rarer so do that one.

see a lot of mods in those amps...i think you should keep the most original especially the one with the original trannies and reversed mods

Hands down the "76. That $1250 is too high to Pay, even for vertical inputs, for our area. You seen those clowns still trying to sell the white-cabbed 800's I think it's Troy?

Thanks guys for your input. Yeah Twin I emailed him yesterday no response yet. I offered him 1500 late last year, he said yes! Then I had car repairs lol. I'd take the Jube over the others. Maybe he will e-mail me back soon I hope. I'll keep you updated guys.

No need for the added gain or effects loop. Much rather have an 81' JCM800 unmolested. I just sold it for 1200.00 to Hatebreeds guitarist lol. So now I'm off to check out some Marshalls. Perfect day

Hell of a deal on the 1959 and cab!

My 1981 JMP 2203 is the best 2203 I ever owned.

Just depends if your are interested in the best financial deal or tone. Then when thinking about tone, do you need a master volume and how much gain. Cascaded or non cascaded preamp.

Also to consider is resale value so ensure you are paying for "stock" electronics and not someones hacked up trial and error work bench.

Passed on the 76' and 8-10 cab. Just didn't sound right, the head kept changing tone the longer I played it.

I'd hang on to your money abit longer. Have a look for a JTM.

since you already have a couple nice vintage 800's i'd try a Jube or a 30th anniv.

So i ended up buying the 87' 2558. Got it for $1500.00 its in great shape and sounds great! I'm part of the SJ family now, feels nice..
