From the above quote and your other "feedback" descriptions, I suspect there is nothing wrong with your amp and/or overall rig. There are many of us crazy folks who actually seek out amps that provide wild feedback. We learn to control and utilize said feedback to create and enhance the sounds (and sometimes voices) in our heads.
Some great examples of such madness can be enjoyed by listening to such maniacs as Jimi Hendrix, Eddie VanHalen, etc, etc, ad nauseam.
It might help us have a better perspective if you shared what gear you've used before and how you used it?
