Weren't the 80's more about Fender, Wormouth, Jackson and Charvel? No one bought Les Paul in the 80s. No one bought Gibsons.

Poor butchered LP's weren't uncommon......

I dig Slash, but I don't buy into him 'saving' Gibson. There were plenty of other very popular players in the 80's that played LP's, not to mention guys like Angus Young with the SG.
