The guilty party?...oh no thats right a combo of both.
Hello Old Punk,
I took your advice and turned it up, not down.
My headphones are capable but there's a limit!
It's a thumping mix. Probably very pleasing for those that like that sort of thing.

As for me, I enjoy a recording aesthetic that existed in the 1940s, perhaps into the 70s too.

I must admit that I only listened to your mix seven or eight times so I probably should not comment since I have not studied it very much.

Meanwhile, it seems that your opinions have stirred up some strong feelings.

Reminds me of the old days. There was a brief time when 'protest songs' were more than lame folk songs. Some of the bands were good.

In those days there were not so many effects in the mix - and we were the better for it.
That was the style at the time.

Heh, very cool, yes a lot has changed...I can produce stuff in my bedroom that was impossible back then. Its funny being suddenly known as a 'protest' artist though when you've been doing this for over 40 years, lol. Who wants to hear the same heart break lovey dovey crap over and over anyway? Im glad she left heheh....Sure I got some of those tunes but theres more important things that need to be discussed now a days especially....but it seems like the majority are afraid to do it. Not me. :flex:

Thanks for taking the time to check it out bud, appreciate it! Take it easy and have a great day.

You're not a socialist, but probably want your social security and Medicare, and enjoy national parks, which were built by social programs like the WPA and CCC. And want a 40 hour week, over time pay and such, which are union based, and were attacked for being communist at their time of inception. Not to mention highways, police, inexpensive public education, and on and on. What we've been getting is socialism for the financial sector, and austerity for the workers.

That sounds excruciatingly boring. Thankfully, it's never actually been that way in the U.S.

Speaking about economics here, not politics…

While we do have a few programs that could be considered socialist, America is fundamentally a capitalist economy. Socialist economies fail-every time. The few nations today that many think of as socialist are actually mixed economies, with a capitalist underpinning that keeps the wheels turning.

If we don't do something about the debt, we're screwed and there is nowhere to get the amount of money we need.

Always good to hear a non-pasteurized tune.

Mix is a bit low on volume and mids, more on the smiley curve side.

That's a can of worms that I could elaborate and ramble on, but I guess we can't really dig into these kinds of discussions here (or any other popular muso forum these days). It seems nuts to me that any forum of people who play music aren't allowed to discuss such things, but I guess it is what it is, which is why I am a member of a forum of music people where such things can be discussed.

Like said bro that was a driving riff, and I would like to hear some more of it..
You said 'running riff' earlier and I listened again. Yep. Made me feel like I was running and shouldn't stop.
This must connect to some song-writing motto, like 'if you're using a riff then play it like you mean it and don't be afraid to repeat it.
