Wampler Velvet with slightly dirty amp

Anyone have some opinions on running the Velvet through a slighty dirty Marshall type amp? Curious if the Velvet is really designed for a clean amp setting.

Gawd I want the velvet fuzz. I'd run it any way it sounds good.

Cool. Please report back. Some guys complain about it being too muddy, dark especially with humbuckers, but most reviews I have read are very favorable.
