Yes, definitely a bass cab. And of course blended with the DI signal. I never tried with a 2204, but instead with a 2203, I assume the end result should be similar though. Just enough distortion to give it some grind, I love it.

That bass tone sounds excellent anyway, not that a 2204 would've made it any better, just a fun expermient
